Information

The Dutch architect, carpenter and designer Gerrit Rietveld (1888-1964) belonged to an influential group of artists called De Stijl. His creative ideas were also widely acclaimed in Bauhaus.
In 1917, he designed the Red and Blue Chair, in which the basic colours characterise the components of the armchair and their specific functions.
