Marcel Breuer and Thonet
Information
In 1928, Marcel Breuer finished working at Bauhaus and was looking for new partners for his designs. In Thonet, he found a furniture manufacturer that took over the company which he had founded, Standart-Möbel.
Steel tube cantilever chair “Cesca”, 1929 – designed by Marcel Breuer for Thonet, seat and backrest made of bentwood frame with Viennese wickerwork.
