Gunnar Aagaard Andersen (1919–1982) was an architect, designer and artist – a progressiv thinker who expanded the Scandinavian design tradition with avant-garde ideas. He was always looking for new shapes, colours and materials that broke the mould. He became known above all for his furniture made of moulded plywood and innovative room objects that combined function and sculpture.
Andersen was part of the Danish design movement that combined clean lines with experimental freedom. He was interested in combining art and everyday life, often developing unconventional solutions that surprised and challenged.
